Welcome to the Burwood Centre! We are a independent specialist multidisciplinary assessment centre for children and young people of 0-25 years of age who are Deaf. You can find out more about who we are what we can provide on this website.
Temporary Note On Covid
We have made some changes on the way we carry out assessments because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Some assessments are being carried out remotely using a video link. If this is appropriate for your child, we will in touch and give you all the information you need to make this a success. Currently we are asking that only one adult attends any face-to-face appointments with their child/young person. Adults should wear a face mask and use hand sanitiser/wash hands frequently throughout the visit. We realise that face masks make communication very difficult and there may be times when we agree to remove masks so that the young person/child is able to access our discussions. We may even be able to carry out some discussions outside. You will need to bring drinks and any food you may need with you because we are unable to offer tea, coffee and squash making facilities at this time.
Please do not attend the Centre if you or your child has any of the symptoms of COVID-19 (high temperature, new, continuous cough, loss or change to your sense of taste or smell) or if you have been advised to isolate because you have been identified as a close contact of an infected person. We will rearrange your assessment date if you are unable to attend.
